If you believe a receipt is wrong — forged, misattributed, or tampered — you can dispute it. A rotating set of verifiers re-checks the hash and votes, and the chain settles it.

honesty is the default

Disputes are rare because they're expensive to lose. A frivolous challenge burns the bond; a correct one gets it back, plus the verifier's reward. Most receipts never see one.
