how is tampering detected?
The receipt stores a hash of the original bytes. Any change to the file — even one bit — breaks the hash, and verification fails.
does seal store my files?
No. Seal stores receipts, not content. Your media stays where you keep it; the ledger only holds the cryptographic proof it existed, unchanged.
